English: A Lynx MK9A helicopter from 847 Naval Air Squadron normally based at the Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton in Somerset on the flight line at the Naval Air Facility El Centro, United States of America.

847 Naval Air Squadron were conducting Pre Deployment Training (PDT) and Mission Specific Training at the Naval Air Facility El Centro, California USA

In comparison to their predecessors, the Lynx Mk9As have increased fire power, more powerful engines, and the ability to operate all year in the harsh 'hot and high' Afghan environment.
