DescriptionLangtoft (Yorks) St Peter's church (42451374764).jpg
The church dates from the thirteenth century and has a western tower, nave with north and south aisles, chancel, and south porch, the entrance of which dates to shortly before 1300 according to Pevsner.
The church was restored for Sir Tatton Sykes in 1900 by Hodgson Fowler, he added the north aisle. Two round piers are the remains of the early thirteenth century arcade; there are also 19th-century circular, octagonal and quatrefoil piers.
The chancel arch is fifteenth century with the chancel itself from the Decorated period. There is a large sedilia and trefoil headed piscina.
There is a Norman tub font which was brought from the redundant church of Cottam in 1950. It has its original lead lining and carvings of Adam and Eve, St Margaret and the Dragon, Saint Laurence, and the crucifixion of Saint Andrew.
There are several stained-glass windows by Kempe and Burlison and Grylls.
